My name is LIU HAN. I am a fashion designer from china.
The project i developed during the fashion design course in NABA is a womenswear fashion collection. The title is ‘CURE’. The topic of my inspiration is ‘medical elements’ although it seems to have nothing with fashion. l employed these elements in clothing design in creative ways. Through data collection and research i have summarized and extracted inspiration points and useful information, so as to express creative ideas through various elements of clothing design, such as pattern, structure and fabric, etc.
First, i designed the patterns of some common medical scenes, such as pregnant women, patients receiving injections, surgeons and viruses with my children’s graffiti drawing style. Then i use textile marker and a sewing machine to render these patterns on my clothes. At the same time, i also used the stripe elements from patient’s clothes into my design, using brushes and textile color to paint my clothes.
In addition, i also get inspiration in my structural design from the scenes of doctors writing words and patterns on protective suits to recognize each other, patients using bandages after injury and difficult to wear and take off clothes ,perforated surgical sheets, etc.
I know that all of us are facing a very difficult situation right now, and i know that people are always full of fear when they face illness. So i hope to make people have a more positive attitude through the power of fashion.
