Chiara Baratti

My name is Chiara, I am from Ticino, the Italian part of Switzerland. During the middle school I already knew I wanted to go on the fashion path, so, I attended a tailoring school in Lugano, Switzerland. After that I wanted to continue my studies in a fashion school, thus I chose to apply to Naba to develop my fashion design skills.
In my collections I really take care of the precision of my patterns and the quality of my garments especially the sewing parts which are my points of strength.

THE CLEAR COLLECTION

This collection is inspired by Zaha Hadid, the Heydar Aliyev Centre in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The collection of the designer, starting from the theme of Fashion Landscapes, is inspired by a personal interpretation of Hadid’s buildings. They are characterized by particular and defined shapes, which the designer interpreted in her collection.
Starting from this idea I tried to maintain a sharp and defined outlook in the art direction and graphic design for the different elements of the branding, also considering that the title of the project is “The Clear Collection” so “clear” was the keyword in terms of project development as well as materials used.
The whole branding of the designer is kept on a restricted color palette (mainly black and white) as well as a minimalistic branding, characterized by defined lines and shapes, which best define the clear identity of the designer herself.

Serena Mercadanti

My name is Serena, I’m 20 and I was born and raised in Milan, which is part of my identity and has improved my professionalism, as well as personal style.

I’ve had a conflictual relationship with fashion throughout the years: when I was younger I was afraid of being judged so I used it as a way to fit in and disappear in the crowd.
At around 16 I started incorporating color into my wardrobe and actually wearing what I wanted and saw that instead people, both in real life and on social media, complimented my outfits.
I now see fashion as a way of self-expression as well as what’s made me my truest self.

I love exploring various aspects of fashion, from photography to marketing, also focusing on social media.
