The collection starts from the study of films with important soundtracks, focusing on the famous musical comedy "Sister Act".
Analyzing the film, what struck me most, was the contrast created between the life of Deloris, who becomes Sister Maria Claretta, forced to pass from the extravagant stage life to the sober and chaste clerical life. The goal of the research is to make the two worlds coexist, inspired by the styles of the 80s and 90s, when Madonna and Britney were the queens to draw inspiration from, and the canonical simplicity of the Catholic’s world. By combining classic fabrics and colors ranging, from black to gray, to a completely different fabric that is shiny lycra with bright colors. At least, all harmonized by matching embroidery and crocheted garments and finally overlapping very large and structured shapes with fit shapes.
Hi, I’m Rebecca Lorenzi, I was born in Sanremo, Italy. Thanks to my mum’s women’s clothes shop, my passion for fashion and clothes has grown. But, above all, I love tailoring and modelism, and I knew that, when I sew my first skirt. My dream is to see a sketch and say: “Yes! I can made it!”. My collection starts from the study of films with important soundtracks, focusing on the musical comedy "Sister Act". I tried to combine the clerical world with the shining one of the 80s/ 90s, through fabrics, colors, shapes and embroidery. The masterpiece is a jacket in fancy velvet with embroidered sleeves.
