PROACTIVE DESTRUCTION

Destruction is a strong imagery that has accompanied man since his appearance on Earth. Originally disasters and natural disasters, today, with the anthropocene, man-made environmental and war disasters.
The imagery of destruction, immortalized by the American photographer Lory Nix, represents a world in which crowded and lived-in public buildings bear the signs of the calamities that have hit them. A contemporary metaphor where nature with its terrible energy struggles to take possession again of that space that had been stolen from it.
Faced with this scenario, the human being observes the catastrophe and stigmatizes its characteristics in an imaginary characterized by branched, rippled fluid forms.
The action of nature is slow and relentless and in the face of it nothing is exempt from deterioration.
The collection stages these concepts through large and enveloping shapes and altered fabrics that represent time and its effects of deterioration.

Destruction is a strong imagery?that has accompanied man since his appearance on Earth. Originally disasters and natural disasters, today, with the anthropocene, man-made en- vironmental and war disasters.?The imagery of destruction, immortalized by the American photographer Lory Nix, represents a world in which crowded and lived-in public buil- dings bear the signs of the calamities that have hit them. A contemporary metaphor where nature with her terrible energy struggles to take posses- sion again of that space that had been stolen from her.?Faced with this scenario, the human being observes the catastrophe and stigmatizes its characteristics in an imaginary characterized by branched, rippled fluid forms.?While man tries to fight himself and nature by stealing the iconography of the catastrophe, certainty appears?that the most relentless natural weapon is?the weather. The action of nature is in fact slow and relentless and in the face of it nothing is exempt from deterioration? The collection stages these concepts through large and enveloping shapes that, like nature, try to incorporate the human being and bring him back to its naturalness, and altered fabrics that represent time and its effects of deterioration.?A collection that denounces the consequences of destruction but investigates its resilience and potential.
