Beatrice Colciago Pezzali

My name is Beatrice Colciago Pezzali, I'm twenty, I live in Milan. I attended scientific high school and then I followed my passion for fashion by enrolling at NABA, in the Fashion Design course, where I am acquiring more design and manual skills and developing my creativity more. My other passions are sport and music, in fact I played volleyball for ten years and played the piano for three years.

The project concerns the Fashion Landscape and consists of a women's fashion collection. The main aspects are "form" and "transparency"
It was inspired by the latest work of two Land Art artists: Christo and his wife Jeanne-Claude "L'Arc de Triomphe, Wrapped".
The artists, packing the monument, changed its appearance and meaning. The gesture represents a visual censorship that arouses a temporary disorientation in the observer.
The veil covers and softens, through its transparency, the contours of what it surrounds. The concealment highlights the hidden object, which is perceived accentuated precisely because it has disappeared from view. A certain place is deprived of its identity, it is removed from the context, from the past and from relationships, placing it solely in the present.
Also inspired by the artists Prue Stent and Honey Long, monuments and women are placed in hostile environments, subject to the deterioration of time, but they survive and acquire greater value.

The collection is based on “shape” and “transparency”, so I connected these aspects to the concept of sinuosity. The idea was to create a performance with light and pure movements, focusing everything on the arms and body. The veil, object of the performance, allowed to interact in a more docile way. An interaction is then created between the veil and the models, covering and wrapping them.
