La Verità è Dolce
The starting point for my collection is the will of telling stories, memories and songs blended all together with the aim of creating something new.
I combined the personal way of dressing of the singer Gabriella Ferri, who told through her songs the life of the humblest people, with photographic research of photographers such as Luciano D'Alessandro, Uliano Lucas and Mario Giacomelli. They recorded life inside asylums and hospices of those who were excluded or forced to the margins of society.
My collection called “La verità è dolce” features both male and female garments with the purpose of being inclusive and interchangeable. The volumes and garments are mostly asymmetrical with wide wearability.
I used fabric remnants and pieces of old clothes in order to create patchworks sewn together as if they were small stories, inspired by the textile works of artists such as Susan Cianciolo.
The fabrics that I chose are mainly composed of natural fibers that I dyed and manipulated.
My name is Giacomo Ramberti, I am 22 years old and I was born in Rimini. Since I was a child my passion has been drawing and creating stories in general, and for this reason I decided to attend the Artistic High School. At the same time, I gained an increasing interest in the fashion field for its ability to use garments and body to express thoughts and stories. Therefore, I decided to attend the BA in Fashion Design at NABA, in order to pursue my interest in using garments and clothes as an artistic and expressive medium.
