I was born in a very little town on the Italian Riviera, but I’ve been living away from home for five years now. After studying Aerospace Engineering for two years in Turin, I decided to move to Milan in order to study in Naba and pursue a career in Fashion. And that is the best choice I could have ever possibly made.
Fashion is a powerful way to express my ideas and to translate a personal vision of what I like into reality.
A journey across order and chaos, decay and renewal.
Inspiration coming from the American Land Art, through the poetry of Robert Smithson and the ‘negative and positive’ of Michael Heizer.
The ‘presence of absence’ of Ólafur Elíasson and the termographic photography point out the problem of global warming.
The aim of L’Ordre Entropique is to analyze the physical concept of entropy in order to explain the connection between those pairs of opposites and find a possible balance.
L’ORDRE ENTROPIQUE - CONCEPT
Entropy is, in statistical mechanics, the measure of the disorder present in any physical system, including the Universe. From this concept, the collection shapes itself by reconnecting to the minimalist works of Lucio Fontana and Olafur Eliasson, which address themes such as space and the dynamics that are created from cuts and holes that connect presence and absence, full and empty.
This series of contrasts and their connection with the concept of entropy finds expression in the works of Robert Smithson which represent the attempt of man, both finite and mortal, to oppose an infinite nature. In the garments, the minimal approach and neutral colors are supported by natural materials such as cotton and linen and processes carried out through plaster and thermographic printing. Straight shapes become lively thanks to openings and curls in strategic points, which give the garments a particularly refined sensuality.
I’m Melania Musci. I was born in Molfetta.
My passion for fashion has been passed on to me by my grandmother since childhood. She was a seamstress and thanks to her I learned about fabrics and to appreciate the quality of a garment.
The "Effìmero" brand project stems from the awareness of the caducity of things.
The concept of transience and the awareness that beauty is destined to perish can provoke
aversion or confusion. Effìmero expresses a renewal in which the transitory nature of beauty does not take on a negative meaning, but on the contrary it increases the value of things, making them rare and precious.
