Hi, I'm Francesca Maniglia a 24 year old girl born in Lecce, a baroque city in southern Italy.
Since childhood I have developed a passion for the world of fashion, in particular for tailoring, an art that I have come to love by observing the careful work of my dear grandfather, the love that prompted me to undertake this course of study.
The "Meriggiare" collection was born from the idea of ??rebirth, of a woman intent on regaining her own space while respecting her nature.
In particular, the inspiration from the poetry of Eugenio Montale, takes up the motif of isolation and loneliness, moods consistent with the historical period we lived. Everything revolves around the impossibility of reaching the beyond, unclear and difficult to glimpse.
The textures used reflect the cracks in the ground, an image of the dryness and greyness of existence.
“Meriggiare” is a collection that comes from the desire of rebirth, for a woman intent on regaining her own space, seeking respect for her nature.
The main reference to Eugenio Montale’s poetry takes up the motif of aridity, isolation, loneliness revealed by metaphors such as the wall, a key element that symbolizes the insurmountable limit that prevents man from getting in touch with others.
The textures used reflect the cracks in the ground, an image of the aridity and greyness of existence; the same sun that does not illuminate but dazzles, so as to prevent a clear vision.
A new parameter that defines a new aesthetic, conforming to the historical period we are experiencing.
