Destructive Frequencies

Musical frequencies have the power to influence us positively or not; the 440 Hz frequency, main in most of the music that we listen has negative effects on our brain, because it is DISHARMONIC for our body. Disharmony represents the irrational, imaginary and in general, anything that deviates from now worn canons of symmetrical, harmonious and logical. (Elogio alla disarmonia, Gillo Dorfles).

The collection is ispired by Esther Stocker's GEOMETRIC ABSTRACTION for prints and manipulations, using only white, black and gray as colors to create apparently orderly visual rhythms, but with the presence of aberrations, intentional interruptions of the order.
The circular, sometimes very voluminous, balloon shapes, ruffled by curls, take inspiration from the series "WALL WAVE VIBRATIONS" (2012) by the artist Loris Cecchetti. He created installations in which the walls seem to vibrate outwards, in fact it is as if they rippled because of sound and magnetic waves.

Martina Bressa

My project analyzes the sound and more precisely the frequencies and vibrations to which we are subjected daily through music in particular.
Musical frequencies have the power to influence us positively or not; the 440 Hz frequency, main in most of the music that we listen has negative effects on our brain, because it is disharmonic for our body.
Within my project I subsequently connected to the concept of harmony and disharmony.
The idea for the development of this concept is a consequence of my interest in music and music therapy, which I find very interesting.
